The Crystal Lake Lions Club was chartered on August 4th, 1931. More than 100 people crowded the main dining room at the Crystal Lodge. A young lawyer, Hamilton O. Hale was the charter president and predicted that the Lions would prove their ever-increasing importance to Crystal Lake. Lion Hale was right on. The club was sponsored by the Barrington Lions Club. The club has been in operation since then and as the say the rest is history. Below is a list of the past Presidents:

July 4, 1983 – The first 4th of July Gala was run by the Crystal Lake Lions Club at the Crystal Point Mall
July 4, 1984 – The first 4th of July Parade in a decade was run by the Crystal Lake Lions Club in conjunction with the 4th of July Gala. The Gala featured the “Taste of Crystal Lake” with Crystal Lake restaurants and 20,000 people attending at the Crystal Point Mall.
