| August 9. The club mourns the passing of three great Lions, Evans Archos, Greg Streb and Tom Yapelli Donations....$500.00 to Crystal Lake Food Pantry and $1,000.00 to Camp Lions. Committee working on updating By-Laws Club and Chairman Richard Kraft gearing up for Candy Days, October 8 & 9 July 21. Lion Art Pears reports that over 1200 used eyeglasses were collected and delivered to the Lions of Illinois Foundation. July 19. Club Flag hosted up on two Fire Department ladder trucks in honor of fallen Marine Staff Sgt. Christopher J. Antonik. July 8. Club learns that Lion Lee Hopp passed away. Lion Lee was the Club President in 1971-72. July 5. Lions Club manpower organize over 100 units in Crystal Lake Parade. All went great. Thanks Lions Rick Miller and Nick Parashis. Club also participated in parade with giant flag. Great response from thousands on hand! June 14. INSTALLATION DINNER. Nice crowd on hand as Lion President Rick Miller turned the gavel over to Lion Pat Gummerson. .Zone Chairman Lion Bob Fowler on hand to install officers. Big awards for the evening went to Lion Nick Parashis who was presented a Melvin Jones Fellowship. Lions of Illinois Foundation Fellows to Lions Dan Igrisan and Lion Bill Franz. Lion Bob Covey also accepted his 60 year chevron. Lion Harmon Peaco received his 55th. May 24 - Welcome new members Lion's Peter Collins and Ken Timmons. State Convention Award 2009 Sight & Sound Sweepstakes -1st Place 100% contributors!!!Lion Jeff Thorsen Sweepstakes winner...$250. Lion Bob Jarvis awarded Fractured Feline for the summer. Golf Outing...need help. Memorial Day Parade need Marchers. Meet at 10:30 at Central HS. Eagle shirts/beige slacks/shorts. |
